Thames River Cruise

Enjoy the crisp, cooling temperatures of a traditional New England fall on an afternoon cruise up the Thames River on Cross Sound Ferry‘s Cecelia Ann. While taking in the fall foliage, participate in a Rum Seminar and Tasting by The Real McCoy Rum’s Abbi Miller and learn more about the history of rum in New London by NLCHS’s Steve Manuel.

-Rum Seminar & Tasting-

Abbi, co-owner of The Real McCoy, will offer a guided tasting of aged rums through the lens of the Prohibition history of Bill McCoy. She will offer insight into historical and current rum production as we taste four expressions of The Real McCoy, including a Limited Edition Aged rum that is the oldest rum ever produced at the Foursquare Distillery.

-History of Rum-

Join Steve Manuel, executive director of NLCHS, for a discussion on the history of rum in New London. From its beginnings in Barbados, to its introduction into the colonies, rum has had a significant impact on the United States. Rum drove the triangle trade, and during prohibition adventurous men defied the Coast guard and ran Rum from the Caribbean to New London. Learn about rum’s varied history and its influence on the shaping of America.

Cruising time is two hours, with a departure time of 2PM. Please arrive by 1:30PM for boarding.
