Summer Museum Camp for Kids

he New London County Historical Society is thrilled to announce our partnership with The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of New London County, CT to host a fun and exciting summer program for kids at the Shaw Mansion.

Twenty-five students, varying in age from 7 – 12 years old, from across New London County will work in teams to build an exhibit incorporating materials from our collection to tell the story of their research theme: ancestry and immigration.

Students will work together in groups to select artifacts for the exhibit, research and write exhibit labels, curate the exhibit, and install the exhibit over the course of the program. The goal of the Summer Museum Camp is to engage students in a project, which connects them to the history of their community.

Help Us Provide a Summer Program for Kids

We are asking our members and local businesses to help us provide a week of camp for those children from low income families.  Each week of camp costs $125 per child.  If you wish to sponsor a child in our program for a week, please click the button below.
